These Ethernet switches have a wide operating voltage and operating temperature. A compact, rugged metal housing makes them compatible for Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations that require and IP30 rating.
If you are connecting two or more things together over Ethernet (PLC, HMI, laptop, etc.) you will need an Ethernet switch.
