- Teachable up to 550mm
- Extremely accurate
- Laser point or line point options
OADM 20/ OADM 21
- Powerful sensor for factory automation
- Resolution up to 4 μm
- Teachable up to 1000mm
- Extremeley accurate
- Laser point or line point options
OADM 250/ OADM 260
- Long measuring ranges of up to 13 meters!
- Resolution up to 1.3mm
- Time of flight principle for up to 13 meters
- Extremeley accurate
- Compact 20.4x135x45mm
- Laser point
Additional optical distance sensors from Baumer include:
- OADR 20
- OM70-P/L
- OM70-X (multi-spot laser distance sensor)
- 0300, 0500, FADx 14, OADK 25 - standard distance sensors
Distance sensors are ideal for measuring the thickness of metal, ceramics, wood or elastic bands. They have highly accurate dsitance measurements and can be used in quality inspection applications.
They are also commonly used for position feedback and level control.
On certain models you can choose between different beams, here are the three options:
- Laser point - measurement of small obects with a spot size of <0.4mm, has a focused laser spot
- Laser line - measurement of rough surfaces with a laser line of <10mm, has a fine laser line
- Multi-spot - measurements on extremely rough and inhomogeneous* shiny surfaces with extra wide laser lines of <62mm, has an extra wide laser line
A few other common questions:
- What is triangulation? The distance of an object is measured by means of the angle of incidence of the reflected light
- What is Time of Flight? (a.k.a. propagation time measurement) - It is the process for indirect distance measurement by measureing the amount of time that a signal requires to cover the measuring distance
*not sure what inhomogeneous is? Basically this would be shiny surfaces that are not uniform, for instance they might have different dimensions
