- The first NFL touchdown pass was thrown by Johnny Unitas of the Baltimore Colts on September 28, 1956. He connected with receiver Raymond Berry for a 24-yard touchdown pass against the Los Angeles Rams.
- George Blanda holds the record for longest NFL career, he played for 26 seasons. Blanda was drafted in 1949 with the Chicago Bears, after 10 seasons, he moved on to play with the Houston Oilers and Oakland Raiders.
