Get ready for some serious automation action! We recently had the pleasure of hosting WEG Automation Application Engineer, Wes Evans, for training on the CFW900.

Key Features of the CFW900

- Farming Applications: Includes a built-in RFI filter for specific applications.
- Expansion Modules: The CFW900 offers plug-and-play expansion modules for up to four rows of IO, accommodating more inputs and outputs than the CFW500.
‘Cruise Control’
Let's explore Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control, which Tim Lenzi describes as "cruise control" for your VFD.
In basic terms, PID enables the CFW900 to automatically adjust its speed, much like a car's cruise control. A perfect example, as explained by Wes Evans, is a water tank application.
The VFD will automatically regulate the water flow, increasing or decreasing it based on the tank's water level.

- Training Session Highlights: We wrapped up the training with a brief discussion of the STO and SSI safety features, the available NEMA 1 and NEMA 12 enclosures, and WEG's upcoming plans for the NEMA 3R enclosure.
