Introducing: Patlite WIO Wireless Control Unit

Posted by Theresa Hoffman on Sep 17th 2024

Proper lighting is essential in factories to ensure safety, productivity, and efficiency.

The new Patlite WIO Series wireless control unit offers a range of signaling options, including beacons, strobes, horns, and sirens.

These devices can improve communication and safety by clearly conveying important information like machine status, alarms, and warnings.

How it Works

The WIO Series wireless control units are a recent addition to the LR6 family. By adding a WIO transmitter and receiver as a base, you can communicate effectively up to 100 meters away.

To use these devices, simply stack the lens module colors on top of the transmitter and mirror them on the receiver. Once paired and connected to a sensor, you can wirelessly communicate machine status or provide warnings over a 100-meter range.

As an added benefit, the receiver can function as a relay. By switching to relay mode, you can connect up to four receivers together, extending the communication range to 400 meters.

Don’t be Surprised

In warehouse and manufacturing settings, there are various safety hazards to be aware of.

Have you ever rounded a corner and been startled by an oncoming forklift? Adding the WIO Series to your facility can help prevent such incidents.

By connecting a sensor to the WIO, you can receive alerts when forklifts or other equipment approach, allowing you to take necessary precautions.

This system is also effective for door monitoring. An unexpected visitor can trigger an alert from the WIO, notifying you of their arrival.

Customization

The WIO Series offers exceptional versatility, allowing for seamless integration with various sensors, up to five LR6 Series LED modules, and other Patlite products.

To meet your specific needs, four DIP switches provide customizable functionality:

  • Level Mode: The transmitter and receiver remain on or off in unison.
  • One-Shot Mode: The receiver remains on for 12 seconds when the transmitter input is activated.
  • A-Mode: The receiver turns on when the transmitter input is activated and turns off when the transmitter is deactivated.
  • B-Mode: The receiver turns on when the transmitter input is deactivated and turns off when the transmitter is activated.
