Hot dog, anyone?

An estimated 150 million Americans will be saying “yes please!” to this classic cookout offering on July 4th.

That’s enough hot dogs to stretch from Washington DC to Los Angeles over 5 times!

Bring on the fireworks

The tradition of fireworks on the 4th of July might not have taken flight without a hopeful vision from Founding Father John Adams.

In a 1777 letter to his wife, he expressed his desire for celebrations filled with "pomp, parade...illuminations from one end of this continent to the other." Fireworks, a popular form of illumination at the time, perfectly captured that spirit.

Shortest Parade Ever

Welcome to Aptos, California, home of the world's shortest 4th of July parade! Clocking in at a mere half mile long, this pint-sized procession doesn't stop people from packing the streets to cheer it on.

Established in 1961 by the Aptos Ladies Evening Society, this well-loved tradition draws in thousands of people who want to enjoy the festive floats, marching bands, and local fun.

Despite its impressive length, the Aptos parade maintains a small-town charm, offering all the classic July 4th festivities – games, food trucks, and music – alongside the main event
