WEG offers a full line of magnetic starters that feature components that meet IEC design standards and UL horsepower ratings plus use WEG contactors and overload relays.

Magnetic starters are designed to protect and operate motors.

There are a number of starters available from WEG:

Non-combination starters:

• ESW series is metallic, NEMA 1, across the line starter, three phase
• ESWS series is metallic, NEMA 1, non-reversing, across the line starter, single phase
• ESWX series is metallic, NEMA 7/9, explosion proof starters
• PESW series is non-metallic, NEMA 4X, across the line starter, three phase
• PESWS series is non-metallic, NEMA 4X, across the line starter, single phase

Combination starters:

• ESWC series
• ESWE series
• ESWF series

Effective May 2023: WEG Electric has announced that their ESW and ESWS series will now use the WEG CWB series of contractors, replacing the currently used CWM series of contactors.

Features Include:

• Rated current (AC-3): 9A (CWB9)
• Overload relay: 1.6-2.5 A (MPW40)
• Control voltage: 480V50/60HZ
• Control Devices: H-O-A+On+Off+Mr+Signal Switch
• Standard Enclosure Type: Non-metallic 4X
• Control Power Transformer: with or without (*CPT primary 575V – secondary 120V - *CPT primary 480V/240V – secondary 120V)
• Branch Disconnect: rotary through-the-door handle
• Short-Circuit Protection: manual motor protection
• Motor Control: magnetic IEC contactor
• Overload Protection: manual motor protection
